I thought you lot could help me out by telling me what you'd advise blokes to do better/more of/less of/try out and tell me your lovely stories of brilliant or weird things some man has done in the sack.
Thanks girls :)

| Blemishes and Big Ugly Spots |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|12:05 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | spotty | ] | I'm lucky enough to NEVER get spots or blemishes (I thank Lush products for that!), but after a weekend of too many takeaways and too much alcohol a GIANT spot erupted on my face. I managed to calm it down with tea tree oil and toothpatste and the giant lump has more or less vanished...
...however now I have a Huge Red Mark in place of the spot and its so red and so dry that my usual touche eclat and powder are not covering the mark up! Is there anything out there that can reduce redness? It's so disgusting!
Oh, and does anyone know where I can find a good cheap manicure set?
Thanks! |

| 'New Look' WISHLIST! |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|11:29 am] |
The good news about this wishlist is that I can look at the prices and half them because I work there and get an amazing discount. But then I probably wouldn't want any of this stuff if I didn't work there. ♥

| GHDs and adapter needs |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|11:01 am] |
|
I'm off to Ibiza on Saturday and due to my hair not being anything like Shipwrecked girls hair when au natural will be taking my GHD's with me.
I have the newest type, the one with the thick plug. Someone told me you can unscrew part of the plug and its has a two pronged things, so you can use them abroad, is that the case?
Last year when i took them away I tried to put them in a adpater but they wouldn't click in properly.
Help??
Oh and by the way, the hollywood wax I had the other day? Easily the most painful experience of my life. NEVER EVER AGAIN. I had to bite on a towel to stop swearing.

| I'm having crazy dreams... |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|11:33 am] |
Tonight it was a scary movie. The scene took place in a big dining room. A family was there mother, father and their 8 children of varying ages, kind of *eight is enough*. The camera was pointing at the mother, everyone was enjoying their meal, and suddenly, all the childrens head were on the plates, blood dripping from their wounds at the neck, and one after the other they opened their mouth and blood would spray out of their mouth. The camera was back on the mother's face, horrified she was, of course, then in a wider framing, the mother on the treshold of the dining room, the table with all her loved spraying blood from their mouth, the camera pans on the right and blood turns into water, it's a transition as we're now in the garden and the water is coming out from the watering system. There was a behind the scenes bit with more mysterious stuff... like it was a movie about making a movie... but I can't really remember that clearly, I should've wrote it down.
As you may guess I'm not sleeping well lately. I keep my windows open to get some fresh air, and being my windows on the street side every single noise comes in. I keep waking up thinking someone is in the house. Yesterday I knocked my foot against the side of the kitchen door while checking if there really was someone.
I need holidays. |

| New 'Duchess' Trailer |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|05:29 am] |
How did I manage to miss this!? The Princess Di references have been left out this time, and I have to say what's there instead looks pretty good! So excited for this film...
And is it my imagination, or does Lady Spencer seem an awful lot like the Comtesse de Noailles in Marie-Antoinette? I know the actresses are different, but the portrayal feels similar. I suppose the characters fulfill the same role in the story (although in MA's case she had the Comtesse and her mother breathing down her neck!).

| Blazer |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|10:26 am] |
I know this sort of question is really tedious, but i need to know!
So i'm watching a Ralph Lauren blazer on Ebay. It's a US size 8 (UK 12). I know that RL clothes come up small in general, but as a UK 8/small 10, would a US 8 be huge on me? Or do you reckon it would be ok, due to RL's miniature sizing? Obviously i do not have a RL store or outlet anywhere near me where i can check, so if anyone with prior experience of their jackets could let me know, this would be a great help. Just want to know whether it's worth getting :) I don't want it to be super-tight anyway, so don't mind it being slightly too big. |

| | Simon & Garfunkel ~ Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall (we hope!) | ] |
We had a magnificent thunderstorm last night. Once again I am convinced that my flowers will be flattened by the violence of the rain, but since they bounced back just fine last time I probably shouldn't worry.
Not enough sleep again -- I took some Excedrin PM (for my toothache), was in bed by 10, and STILL woke up at 2am >__< Definitely need to try out that exercise plan...
Anyway -- today's lady, lifted from another LJ (I forget who posted it now, sorry!). I did some minor enhancements to clean it up a bit, since the original was somewhat dark and muddy.

[Jul. 23rd, 2008|11:24 pm] |
|
http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2008/07/at-last-the-tru.html My friends, a sinister enemy walks among us -- perhaps in your very house. It comes from the distant reaches of another galaxy, yet takes the form of an innocent house cat, gaining our trust, then ... stealing our very thoughts while we sleep!! My friend, we cannot keep this a secret any longer. Can your heart stand the shocking facts of ... BRAIN ROBBERS FROM OUTER SPACE?!?

| My little monkeys... |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|06:43 am] |
A little while ago I made little Marvin the Monkey which I loved and he received lots of lovely comments from people. Lately, little Marvin had been getting lonely so I sat down and started making him a whole bunch of friends to hang out with. :D
Here's a picture of Marvin and friends hanging out together. :D Meet Marvin, Millie, Mervin and Mollie. :)

| So we took some pictures a few weeks back... |
[Jul. 23rd, 2008|10:05 pm] |
Unfortunately I'm still pretty stiff when it comes to posing and such, but at last there is photographic proof of my favorite dress of all time. Maybe when the weather deeps to a breezy 80 I might venture out to get some outdoor photos, but right now I'd have to think a lot of chilly thoughts to survive more than a few minutes outside in a nearly full-length, long sleeved black dress. No matter how amazing it is...

[Jul. 23rd, 2008|08:21 pm] |
I'd buy them both, and maybe have places to wear them. Seriously, the want for these dresses caused me physical pain. I saw the first one courtesy of naniwa_elle , I didn't know about the BLUE one until I searched out the origin of the lovelies...augh. I think this is where I crumple into quivering pile of dress want.

| (homo)sexual propaganda |
[Jul. 24th, 2008|12:30 am] |
Last propaganda I launched was "Deforest your crack today", so this shall be "Try versatility, you might just like it".
I was just casually browsing Dlist and came across this:
If YOU are the top and I am the bottom, then do your fucking job and take some control. If you have a weak agenda, you shouldn't be topping in the first place.
That is all kinds of sad. I can't STAND fags that see topping and bottoming as social roles. I don't even understand the attempt to bring what plagues straight relationships the most into gay relationships. So according to this homo, if you're not going to boss around you have no right to fuck?
I generally don't like seeing people labeling themselves tops or bottoms. From my personal experience "tops" are all about the social role and get off on cock more than anyone - it's more likely you'll find a bottom that will play with your ass than a "top". On the other hand I've found so many "bottoms" who just don't have the confidence to fuck someone, and once you get them going there's no stopping them. At the same time, you'll see a real bottom lose interest in someone in a second if they find out they're bottom as well. They want cock in their ass and that's that, if you can't give it, you're of no use. But you won't see a top turn down another top.
It's all a bit complicated I guess. I recommend: Versatility! Though always, and I mean ALWAYS the boys I'm attracted to turn out to be total bottoms, even if they don't look it. Which I don't mind to be honest but it's good to have the option.
By the way did anyone deforest their crack? God get to work boys already. |

| New Birds |
[Jul. 23rd, 2008|04:55 pm] |
The larger chickadee is the one I posted a couple weeks ago. I wanted smaller ones for mascots and so made the smaller mountain chickadee and a house finch. You can see that Gumball the kitten is stalking them. Oh, no!! The small birds are about 1.5" and are made from a single strand of persian wool. I'm going to attach clips to them so they can be hooked on a purse or whatever. |

| Book Reviews |
[Jul. 23rd, 2008|06:33 pm] |
Well, isn't that handy -- Goodreads comes through again! Here are the two most recent books I've finished. More to come as I get around to filling them in...
Looking for Anne of Green Gables: The Life and Times of L. M. Montgomery by Irene Gammel My reviewRating: 5 of 5 stars
A fascinating study of an author and her much beloved creation. Professor Gammel delves into previously unpublished materials, including private journals and correspondence, to shed new light on L.M. Montgomery's creative process, and the wide variety of influences that culminated in the creation of the character Anne Shirley.
This book is a sympathetic, insightful, and entertaining exploration. Part biography, part literary analysis, I found it a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. Highly recommended to fans of LMM's writing.
Wolverine/Black Cat: Claws HC by Jimmy Palmiotti My reviewRating: 5 of 5 stars
A fun light comedy featuring two of my favorite favorite Marvel characters, with art by the incomparable Joseph Michael Linsner. Quick banter, goofy villains, lots of explosions, and even a little romance -- what more could you ask for? I'm just sorry that this was only a three-part series; I'd love to see these two teamed up again, especially if the same creative team is involved.
*Bonus points to anyone who spots the Dawn cameo!

[EDIT] EEEEEEE! My mother just brought my entire collection of Little House books from her apartment! I haven't read these since I was in grade school. Must reread soon... |

[Jul. 23rd, 2008|11:40 pm] |
Does anyone here work for the police as an officer or is doing training or knows somebody who is?
I'm currently working as a health care assisstant in a busy A+E which caters to a huge area including Stansted airport, I'm doing my NVQ 3 and was planning on going to uni to study operating department practice upon completion. However the police is something that always has played on my mind for a good few years.
I've done a lot of research and would think I would enjoy it - I'm used to aggression, drunks, dead people, inside body bits on the outside, drug users, etc etc with my job and also my old job of working in a nightclub.
Not to mention the pay of £23k a year while TRAINING is more than I'll be earning when out of uni, then up to £27k a year including fantastic benefits, mainly free rail travel (I use the London tube and Stansted express frequently).
So just looking for a bit of advice/guidance/stories really!
PS. No 'the police are wankers' replies please, I know I know! |
